Who are we?
Our program began in 1992 based out of Evangeline Middle School in New Minas. We began with a 10 week program running two or three programs per year for patients with heart disease. In 1997 Extended Warranty II became a legal entity and began operating under the guidance of the Valley Cardiac Rehab Society. We are registered with the Nova Scotia Registry of Joint Stock Companies as a not-for- profit organization. We are a formal registered charity with the federal government. Over the years our program has grown steadily and now, every five weeks begins a new 10-week program for patients with a variety of conditions including heart disease, stroke, diabetes and COPD. More than a thousand patients have benefitted from our programs. We operate in partnership with Annapolis Valley Health and Acadia University Department of Kinesiology.

What we do!
We educate, motivate and make you “perspirate”! We believe you’ll do better long term when you understand your condition, eat healthily, use medications properly, and exercise daily! Our educational sessions provide you with up-to-date information about your condition teaching in an interactive, relaxed setting. You will have the opportunity to learn from a variety of expert instructors including a cardiologist (heart specialist), kinesiologist (fitness expert), dietician, pharmacist, respiratory therapist and psychologist. Cardiac nurses and a kinesiologist supervise cardiac exercise sessions; respiratory therapists, physiotherapists and a kinesiologist supervise COPD sessions.
What you do counts!
When you get sick, hospitals with interventional procedures like angioplasty and by-pass surgery can help get you out of trouble. To keep you out of trouble that’s where we come in. We help you to adopt healthy living habits to help you heal. This helps your condition stabilize and reduces the chance of it causing you more problems. We’re here to teach you how to take back control of your health!
